Lavon received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Western Illinois University in December 2011. During his undergraduate studies at Western, Lavon served as the Director of Marketing and Promotions for the University Union Board, Promotions Co-Chair for Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, served as a peer mentor, Desk Assistant for Tanner Resident Hall, and served as a member of the Big Brother Big Sister Program. Currently, Lavon is pursuing his Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte. Over the next two years, Lavon will also be working as a full time Corp member with Teach For America. Following his tenure, Lavon plans to complete his Juris Doctorate and practice law as a civil litigator. Lavon became a consultant for The Presidents Institute in May 2012.
